Dear Squashers

Santa Barbara Athletic Club is excited to be holding its first ever USSRA
sanctioned Junior divisions along with all the usual adult skill level and age
group divisions at the Hi-Tec Santa Barbara Summer Open squash tournament on
July 25th - 27th. This event is part of the California summer tour of sanctioned junior events.

An entry form is attached with full information or please email me with any
questions. I hope you have the opportunity to visit us and enjoy the event.

Hi-Tec Santa Barbara Summer Open Entry Form

Camelback Village has been hosting the GCSG since 2004, for 2008 a new format was brought in. The squash tournament was played over 2 week-ends. DC Ranch played host May 30th-June 1st and Camelback June 6-8th. A total if 106 players participated this year, a record entry.

The reason for this was a new format that was played. DC Ranch used an Olympic Draw; this entailed having 2 32 player draws or a maximum of 64 players. The entries for this were all in with a month to spare. These were called A and B, the A event being payers with a rating from 4.5 upwards and the B’s 4.0 Read the rest of this entry »

The Board of the Professional Squash Association has decided to revise the reporting of its scoring system with effect from 1 June.

The PSA’s move in August 2004 to reduce of the points in a game from 15 to 11 transformed men’s professional squash - making the sport more attacking, more exciting, and considerably enhancing its spectator and television appeal. Read the rest of this entry »
